About Us

Bethel Senior Citizens Housing Society (BSCHS) was formed in 1980, with a commitment to developing and operating a complex of Seniors apartments.  This development was a dream and part of the vision of Rev. Randy Brant.  Click the 'Tribute' button to read about this special individual.

Heritage Heights was opened in 1981 and has provided affordable housing for many of our community's seniors.

Heritage Heights is managed by an Executive Committee, elected from the Society members.  BSCHS is a member of the British Columbia Non-Profit Housing Association and works with the BC Housing Ministry of the Government of British Columbia.

The BSCHS hires a caretaker to address the ongoing needs of light maintenance and cleaning of the common areas.

Heritage Heights rental rates are based on the premise that people in need should not have to pay more than 30% of their income for rent.  Applicants are asked to provide financial information to ensure the rental rate does not exceed this amount.  Current rates (as of August 2007) are $493 for a one bedroom suite, and $588 for two bedroom suite.

To increase the safety of the facility, the Board has designated Heritage Heights as a "Non-Smoking" facility therefore new tenants must be non-smokers.

A Hot Meal program is also in place.  For a small fee, tenants can purchase a hot meal at the kitchen four days each week (currently Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).  This meal program is provided by the Northern Health Authority.
