Church Services and Hall RentalsSouth Peace United Church is pleased to offer the following Services as well as Rental Space for the use of profit and non-profit organizations.WeddingsOn your special day you may have South Peace United Church or have another denominational minister conduct your wedding. We have various liturgies to best suit a variety of tastes. You can provide C.D or taped music for the service or organ / piano music can be played by our talented organist or by a friend of the wedding party. Music arrangements for all weddings booked at South Peace United Church must be clarified no later than 3 months before the wedding date.A wedding is a service of worship. Therefore flashed pictures will be permitted during the processional, the signing of the documents and the recessional ONLY. Although video taping is more than welcome during the whole service. Flowers, candles and decorations are also welcome (excluding artificial arches) to make your wedding perfect. ( Arrangements should be made to set up any decorations prior to the wedding and to have them removed immediately after the ceremony. ) All weddings must be booked through the church office with the understanding that if the wedding is to be conducted by the South Peace Minister his or her approval must be attained before final arrangements are made. Attendance at a Marriage Preparation event held at South Peace United Church or arrangement for approval of the equivalent is required. Because weddings conducted by the Marriage Commissioners and/or the Justice of the Peace do not normally require any Marriage Preparation CounselIng , such will not be conducted in the South Peace Sanctuary. In the Province of British Columbia marriages are solemnized by license. The couple is responsible for applying for their marriage license and it is to be in the hands of the church secretary no later than two weeks prior to the wedding date. Ministers of other churches in the city and district are welcome to use the church if a larger facility is needed. The family is welcome to meet ahead of time in the parlor in the lower hall and welcome to use the Upper Hall for tea following the service.
