History for the Year of 1998
Dec 12, 1998	N.E.O.Net will soon be supplying our subscribers with hi-speed 56k digital modems on all lines!
Dec 1, 1998	N.E.O.Net is now supplying our subscribers with 40 Dial-In Lines with even more in the new year.
August 20, 1998	To better serve the growing needs of our subscribers, we are increasing our number of dial-in lines from 25 to 32. The additional lines will be in place soon.
June 19, 1998	N.E.O.Net has new Subscription Rates and changes to our Subscription Plans. N.E.O.Net Subscribers now have even more free features just for subscribing to our service! We now have a dedicated server set up on our site for Multiplayer Online Gaming. We currently have Quake II available and will be adding additional games in the future. Coming Soon! UnReal and Duke Nukem Forever!
February 17, 1998	Our new MODEMs are online! We are now running with 5 additional lines, so anyone who was experiencing a short time of busy signal during prime access times should have no problems getting onto our system. Please be patient with us for the next few days as we get all of the bugs out of the system, and get the new lines fully tested. We apologize beforehand for any inconvenience that may be incurred while we are expanding our service.
February 1, 1998	Our additional MODEMS should be on-line shortly. This will bring our total number of dial-in lines up to 25. You will still be dialing into the same telephone number to get onto our service, but it will fix anyone who has encountered any times when the lines were all busy. We will let you know when they are operational.
January 14, 1998	We are currently adding additional MODEMS to our dial-up service. This may take up to 5 or 6 weeks, but hopefully sooner, so expect them to be available before the latter half of February. Although we are keeping ahead of our subscriber-to-line ratio, if during peak usage hours of 6PM to 9PM you ever experience a busy signal, it should not last for very long, so please call back within a few minutes. We will post a message here and update any relevant on-line pages when the MODEMS are installed.
January 7, 1998	It seems we had a little bit of v-fib on the net. There was a problem with a router on the backbone, causing our subscribers to only get access to our Home Page and Email. The problem has been repaired (11:30 AM). We apologize for any inconvenience.

September 23, 1997	Our connection out to the rest of the Internet world was temporarily off-line today (approx. 2pm to 10pm). Our Internet connection supplier was repairing their fiber optic cables. We also took this time to perform a few quick minutes of maintenance on our server from 5:00pm to 5:20pm. We apologize for any inconvenience.

August 7, 1997	We have added a new Area to our Web Site! "1997 Fall Fair & Rodeo" is a free area packed with information and pictures of this local event.
August 4, 1997	We have added a new Area to our Web Site! "Subscriber Feedback" gives our Subscribers an easy way to let us know how we are doing. You can access this page through the For Subscribers Only link on the main page.
August 3, 1997	We have added a new Area to our Web Site! "Small Business - Entrepreneur" gives small businesses and home-based businesses plenty of information and links to companies and individuals who can help you make your business a success. This page will be continually updated with new information on a regular basis.

With this excellent feature added to our large list of services, we can provide you with the following exciting Internet capabilities: - On-line 'Real-Time' Conferencing. - Multi-user Chat. - Whiteboard with graphics and text and multiple pages. - Audio chat with full-duplex. July 8, 1997	We have greatly modified and updated our home page to bring you more features and a cleaner, sharper look. Along with the new graphics and layout, you'll find: · Cookies (see the cookies information link on main page). · Background Music (see the music information link on main page). · A 'Clickable' Advertisement Banner. · Online 'Helpers' that answer frequently asked questions (look in the Subscriber Area for these). We are now also using Frames and Java. This means that you must have a Frames and Java capable browser such as Netscape Navigator 3 (32-bit) or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3 or newer. Depending on how you have your browser configured, refreshing our pages may not be enough to correctly view the new features, you may have to clear the browser's cache. See our new Online Helpers in the Subscriber's Area for more information on how to accomplish this. Please note that the majority of these new features are only available to our subscribers. For information on how you can become a subscriber, choose the Prices on Subscriptions link on the main page. We have added a large number of new links in our Sites of Interest area. You can check them out by choosing the Internet Sites of Interest link in our Subscriber Area.
June 1, 1997	Effective June 1st 1997 our Dial-in Subscription Plans are changing, plus a new plan for heavy users is being introduced. The existing Plans are having their hours increased, giving you more Internet on-line access time with no increase in price. For detailed information, check out our Dial-up Pricing Page by clicking here. Existing N.E.O.Net Subscribers will have their pre-paid plan hours automatically adjusted as of June 1st 1997 to the new hours. This is for any remaining time on their plans only. Subscribers who are part way into their plans will not be credited for past months.

May 23, 1997	A few of you may be noticing that any accesses to AOL (America Online)-based Internet addresses is causing problems such as timeouts and delays. This is due to AOL changing/upgrading their system. The problem with hopefully be resolved soon.
May 9, 1997	We have a few updated and new Web Home Pages in our Online Directory. You may wish to check them out. We're currently updating our web pages to optimize them for quicker loading times and better graphics, in addition to a more intuitive format.
May 1, 1997	We have dramatically reduced our WWW, FTP, and Online Directory Advertisement pricing! We are sure that you will find these new prices more appealing. Check them out by clicking here or choose the Rates link on the Home Page. We now have an Advertisement Banner available on our Home Page. We have done a little redesigning to our Home Page. We hope to keep you better informed on What's New.
Mar 20, 1997	There is a scheduled Internet Outage for our region Sunday March 23rd, between the hours of 2:00am and 8:00am. The outage is required to upgrade core network circuits. We apologize for any inconvenience. There are new Sites of Interest Topics: "Music" and "News and Information"; and a few new links in other various Topics. The For Subscriber's Only link on our Main Home Page should be working properly for all users now. Please let us know if you experience any problems.
Feb 28, 1997	Starting March 1st, our Entry Level Plan will be increasing from 5 hours to 10 hours for the same $12 per month (3, 6, or 12 month prepayments only). Current Entry Level Subscribers will be automatically changed to 10 hours at this time.
Feb 27, 1997	Those of you who have been patiently waiting for Usenet News access should check out our Usenet page in the Sites of Interest. It lists more than 50 free public news servers. There are new Sites of Interest links in Entertainment & TV. We are now running with a total of 20 dial-in lines. Anyone who experienced busy signals before should no longer get one.
Feb 4, 1997	There was a Westel scheduled Internet outage Feb 4 (Tuesday) at 8:30 AM for about 10 minutes. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Jan 23, 1997	ATTENTION SUBSCRIBERS! Some Subscribers may experience difficulties when accessing the Subscribers Only Link. This will vary depending on which Internet browser you are using. We are working on solving the problem. If you are having difficulties, you may also click here to get access.
Jan 20 1997	ATTENTION SUBSCRIBERS! You can now access your current 'hours used' and 'overtime hours' by clicking on the 'NEONet Subscribers Only' link on the home page and choosing the 'Subscriber Account Status' item.

Due to the rapid growth of N.E.O.Net subscriptions within the past month, we are increasing the number of available lines, allowing us to support twice as many simultaneous callers. If you experience difficulties connecting during peak usage times of 6:00pm to 8:00pm, please try again later. Jan 6, 1997	New items have been added to the Sites of Interest. Our Online Directory is now 'online'.

Entry: now 20 hours per month Standard: now 100 hours per month Super: now 300 hours per month If you are a current subscriber, your plan is automatically increased effective March 1st 1999.

Dec 10, 1996	Two new Topic Groups have been added to the Sites of Interest: Arts & Humanities and Peace River District.
Dec 01, 1996	North East Online Network is officially up and running. We thank all of those people who were testers, and aided us in getting our system operational so quickly. As of Sunday December 1st, our free access time is over. Any testers who wish to become subscribers, please contact our office or pick up a form at any of the outlets.
Nov 20, 1996	Until the end of November 1996, we are allowing subscribers in the Dawson Creek area free time-limited access to N.E.O.Net. Call us at 250-782-2380 for further information.
